Sharon Darin, MA, LMHC
"Life isn't about waiting for the storm to be over, it's about learning
how to dance in the rain." Vivian Green
Sharon was born and raised in Michigan and began her undergraduate career as a dance major at Butler University. As is so often the case, life happened: she fell in love, moved to Florida and completed her Bachelor’s degree in Humanities and her Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling at Rollins College.
When life happens, we may feel stuck or confused or alone. Counseling provides a safe, supportive place to work through those struggles. As a counselor, Sharon draws on her life experiences as a dancer, sister, daughter, mother and wife. She believes the path to wholeness lies within ourselves and she has learned people are hard-wired to be in relationship with others. Counseling sessions are collaborative with a focus on identifying and nurturing clients’ strengths and resources to create positive change.
Sharon works with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families to address anxiety, communication and conflict resolution, depression, grief, learning concerns, relationship distress and trauma. Her therapeutic approach includes CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), solution focused therapy, family systems therapy, play therapy, mindfulness and EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing).
