Rebecca comes to LCS as an intern currently pursuing her master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling through Northwestern University. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Washington, she worked within the social impact and educational realms, forming connections with students of all ages from around the world and fostering a passion for multiculturalism and diversity. She integrates these areas with her passion for mental health, where she has volunteered as a crisis counselor, co-facilitated relationship workshops for couples, and assisted with reintegration into society post incarceration. Whether shame, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, difficulty adjusting to change, or other life struggles take hold, Rebecca aims to support and empower her clients utilizing a strengths-based approach rooted in acceptance. She pulls from multiple counseling theories including psychodynamic, person-centered, and acceptance and commitment therapy, and is inspired by Dr. Brené Brown’s work with shame resilience, perfectionism, and wholehearted living. Aside from counseling, Rebecca greatly values nature and outdoor activities, soaking in time with her husband and puppy, indulging in her favorite podcasts, and reading a good book.
