Sydney Kurtz, MA

Sydney is a Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern with a master’s degree in Professional Counseling from Southeastern University. Sydney believes everyone has a story worth telling and is worthy of a safe space to share. She is passionate about working with children and teenagers and seeing them grow. In addition to counseling, Sydney invests in the next generation by working with students in various settings including mentoring through a local ministry and coaching middle school track and cross country. Due in part to her own personal experience with counseling, Sydney believes healing comes with meeting an individual right where they are. She believes freedom happens when wholeness is embraced and we begin to let go of shame. Sydney loves central Florida and in her spare time enjoys walking the many lakes in the area, spending time with friends and family, and grabbing an iced lavender latte from her favorite coffee shop.
Sydney pulls from multiple counseling theories including attachment-based, person-centered, internal family systems, play therapy, and emotion-focused therapy. She utilizes an integrative approach to connect deeply with her clients. She loves to see her clients discover the courage that is already inside of them and embrace the hope that leads them to whatever their next steps may be.
