Rebecca Ruh, LMHC, NCC

Rebecca is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwestern University. Rebecca integrates her background in social impact and education with her passion for mental health, where she has experience counseling in school, geriatric, and crisis settings, co-facilitating couples’ workshops, and providing individual and group counseling to clients ranging in age from three to 92. Whether shame, stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, difficulty adjusting to change, or other traumas and life struggles have taken hold, Rebecca aims for her clients to feel heard, accepted, and supported. She utilizes a strengths-based approach rooted in acceptance, nonjudgement, and collaboration. She pulls from multiple counseling theories including psychodynamic, person-centered, internal family systems, and acceptance and commitment therapy, and is inspired by Dr. Brené Brown’s work with shame resilience, perfectionism, and wholehearted living. Rebecca has a special interest in working with highly sensitive people and incorporating parts and somatic work alongside mindfulness and self-compassion with her clients. Aside from counseling, Rebecca greatly values nature and outdoor activities, soaking in time with her partner and dog, indulging in her favorite podcasts, and reading a good book.
